The Giving Challenge is an exciting 24-hour online giving event that connects nearly 700 nonprofit organizations with passionate donors and community members who want to make a lasting impact across Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties. Hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and strengthened by The Patterson Foundation, every unique donation is generously matched—doubling the impact of every gift.
In 2024, thanks to our incredible community, Venice Youth Boating Association reached our $10,000 Giving Challenge goal. Those funds directly supported much-needed equipment upgrades and improvements at our sailing center, helping us provide a safer, stronger, and more enriching environment for our sailors.
This year, we are setting our sights even higher. We are raising our goal to $30,000 to expand our scholarship program —ensuring that no child is turned away due to financial barriers. Our programs continue to grow, welcoming children from all walks of life, backgrounds, and experiences. Through sailing, they gain confidence, independence, leadership skills, and a deep respect for our waterways.
