FULL FLEET ADVENTURE SAIL: (Ages 8-18) No experience needed in this adventure sail camp. Sailors get to explore all the various boats we have to offer in the full day of fun on the water. Activities include learning to sail, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming on sandbars, hiking on the various islands we visit, and STEM related activities, arts and crafts.

POLLYWOG: Ages (6-8) No experience required! This is an introduction learn to sail program. Sailors learn in a sailing cube with a buddy and are introduced to the basics of sailing while having fun on the water.
Benefits to an early learn to sail program is to challenge the cognitive abilities of young children. Building independence and confidence while introducing them to boats and various water activities.
Goals for this course are to learn basic sailing terms: safety, parts of the boats, capsize/recovery, steering, basic knots, and of course having fun!

OPTI BEGINNER: (Ages 8-14) No experience required! Each sailor learns how to captain their own Optimist Pram and all the basic sailing knowledge that goes with it.
The benefits of beginner sailing are to ensure safety on and off the water, build confidence, learning respect for your peers and the environment, sportsmanship and learning team building skills.
Goals of this course are to learn basic sailing knowledge: safety, parts of the boats, rigging/derigging, capsize/recovery, knots/lines, points of sail, casting off/landing, upwind/downwind sailing, and of course having fun!

OPTI ADVANCED: (Ages 9-14) Pre-requisite - Optimist Beginner. Hone your Opti sailing skills and get advanced knowledge about your boat. Advanced sailors focus on refining boat controls, boat handling skills, and an introduction to racecourses.
The benefits of the advanced sailing course are an extension of Opti Beginner course. To further safety practices on and off the water, further confidence in sailing and boat handling skills, learning respect for your peers and the environment, sportsmanship and learning team building skills.
Goals of this course are to learn advanced sailing knowledge: safety, rigging/de-rigging, knots/lines, points of sail, wind direction, upwind/downwind sailing, starting/stopping, sail trim, man overboard recovery, basic rules of the road, and of course having fun!

C420 BEGINNER: (Ages 13-18) No experience required! Each sailor works with a teammate to captain and crew a Club 420 sailboat. This course is designed for those junior sailors who want to experience sailing a double-handed boat.
The benefits of beginner 420 sailing are to ensure safety on and off the water, build confidence, learning respect for your peers and the environment, sportsmanship and developing an understanding for how double-handed boats operate and learning to work as part of a team.
Goals of this course are to learn basic 420 sailing knowledge: safety, parts of the boats, rigging/derigging, capsize/recovery, knots/lines, points of sail, casting off/landing, tacking and jibing, upwind/downwind sailing, skipper and crew positions, introduction to racecourses, teamwork, and of course having fun!

C420 ADVANCED: (Ages 14-18) Pre-requisite - C420 Beginner! Sailors work together to master the advanced skills on the C420: trapeze and spinnaker.
The benefits of advanced C420 sailing are an extension of the C420 beginner course. To further safety practices on and off the water, further confidence in sailing the double-handed boat, learning respect for your peers and the environment, sportsmanship and learning to work as part of a team.
Goals of this course are to learn the advanced C420 sailing knowledge: safety, rigging/derigging, spinnaker and trapeze, sail trim, sail controls, tacking and jibing, upwind/downwind sailing, stopping/starting, skipper and crew positions, teamwork, and of course having fun!

LASER BASICS: (Ages 14-18) Pre-requisite - Opti advanced or prior sailing experience subject to Director approval. Sailors work to learn to rig and sail a Laser Radial sailboat, includes beginner race tactics. This course is recommended for those sailors who age/grow out of the Opti and want to continue the single-handed racing. Minimum Recommended Weight 90lbs.
Goals for this laser sailing course: safety, parts of the boats, rigging/derigging, capsize/recovery, knots/lines, points of sail, casting off/landing, upwind/downwind sailing, intro to racing, and of course having fun!

Our goal is to help motivate Optimist sailors who may be interested in joining the school year race team.
The clinics are designed to offer training to help understand what Optimist racing is about as well as improve boat preparation, tuning, sail settings and advanced boat handling skills including roll-tacking, roll-gybing and mark rounding. We will look hard at developing both upwind and downwind speed as well as tactics and race strategy.

INTRO TO HIGH SCHOOL SAILING: (Grades 8th-12th) Pre-requisite Club 420 Beginner or some other sailing experience subject to Director approval. Do you want to join a High School Sport and club? Learn what the High School sailing team is all about.
Our goal is to help motivate high school students who love sailing the C420 and may be interested in racing to join the High School Sailing Team. This is also a great introductory for rising 7th graders who can join in 8th grade on the high school sailing development team.
This clinic is designed to give an understanding of what the High School Sailing Team is all about as well as and introduction to High
School Racing Rules, rig tuning, sail setting, and advanced boat handling skills including roll tacking, roll gybing, and mark-rounding.
