Intro to High School Racing
Grades 8-12
Pre-requisite Club 420 Beginner or some other sailing experience subject to Director approval.
Do you want to join a High School sport and club? Learn what the High School sailing team is all about.
Our goal is to help motivate high school students who love sailing the C420, and may be interested in racing, to join the High School Sailing Team. This is also a great introductory for rising 7th graders who can join in 8th grade on the high school sailing development team.
This clinic is designed to give an understanding of what the High School Sailing Team is all about as well as and introduction to High School Racing Rules, rig tuning, sail setting, and advanced boat handling skills including roll tacking, roll gybing, and mark-rounding.
The benefits of being on a sailing team is to build confidence, learning respect for your peers and the environment, sportsmanship and developing an understanding for how double-handed boats operate and learning to work as part of a team.
