1. The Venice High Sailing Team is a club sport with all practices located at VYBA. Regattas are governed by South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association (SAISA). The team consists of a JV team (8th graders can participate on JV) and a Varsity team.
2. SAISA has scheduled South Points Regattas for 2025-26. VYBA will compete in fall and spring points regattas as designated by SAISA.
3. Practice commitment is required to attend regattas.
4. Team membership and the regatta attendance requirement does not guarantee that every sailor will sail at a regatta as that depends on the rotation of sailors at the regatta as well as weather conditions which determine the number of races that may be conducted at those regattas.
5. JV/Composite Teams will only sail in the West Coast SAISA regattas unless approved by the lead coach.
6. The fee includes one VHS uniform race shirt per sailor. Additional gear (T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) will be available for purchase.
7. The fee excludes participation in the VYBA’s School Year C420 Racing Team program or other VYBA-sponsored events for the C420 Racing Team Program.
8. The fee excludes Regatta fees: typical regatta entrance fees are between $75-$100 per regatta and spilt between the sailors. We will have fundraising efforts to offset the costs of regatta fees.
9. The team will practice one day per week after school and regattas are on Saturdays as designated by SAISA.
10. Regatta attendance requires adult parents as chaperones at the regatta and during overnight hotel stays as may be required for certain regattas, particularly those on the east coast of Florida.
Tuition FULL YEAR:
Sept 3rd- Apr 22nd
(we follow public school holidays and breaks)

$700 per Team Sailor
$300 per Club 420 Race Sailor (as an add on)
Practice:
Wednesdays 3:00pm - 7:30pm (or sunset)
Regatta prep on select days as stipulated by coaches
Personal boats are NOT required - VYBA provides all equipment. Registration for regattas is provided for the team by the Venice Youth Boating Association. Parent and sailor participation is required for fundraising. More details to come.
Sailors need to arrive each day prepared to sail! We require each sailor to bring:
· REFILLABLE WATER JUG - water fountain available for refills
· Snack (No refrigeration is available on site)
· U.S. Coast Guard Approved Type III Life Jacket (Personal Flotation Device) with whistle attached
· Closed-Toe Shoes to be worn at all times!! (No Crocs or Flip-Flops allowed on land or on water)
· Sunscreen
